Aparupa celebrates its Foundation Day each year by reflecting on its journey, achievements and commitment to women’s empowerment and community welfare. The celebrations bring together members, well-wishers and distinguished guests through social initiatives, awareness programmes, cultural activities, recognitions and community service, reaffirming Aparupa’s commitment to creating a more empowered and inclusive society.
Aparupa will honour 30 financially independent women entrepreneurs with the ‘Mahiyashi Nari’ Award at a special event in Guwahati on April 28. The programme will recognise women for their achievements and contributions to society, along with cultural and literary activities, including music, dance and competitions.
Aparupa will provide financial assistance to 50 economically disadvantaged cancer patients as part of its cancer awareness and prevention initiative in Guwahati. Each beneficiary will receive ₹10,000 along with support for medicines and chemotherapy. The programme will also feature discussions on cancer detection, treatment and palliative care, with Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani attending as a special guest.
Aparupa organised its ‘Utkrista’ Awards ceremony to recognise outstanding contributions by women. The event featured Bollywood actress Mandakini, who was honoured with an award. The programme also included cultural performances and recognition of women for their achievements in various fields.

Aparupa announced the ‘Aparupa Excellency Award Show 2024’, scheduled for April 28, 2024, at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati. The event will honour 30 financially underprivileged women entrepreneurs with cash awards and include the distribution of wheelchairs to needy people. Bollywood actress Mandakini was announced as a special attraction, along with book launches, cultural competitions and an exhibition.
A protest meeting was organised at Chandraprabha Saikiani Bhawan in Guwahati, demanding stronger measures to ensure women’s safety and prevent crimes against women. Organised by the Assam Pradeshik Mahila Samiti with support from Aparupa, the meeting called for strict action against perpetrators and greater public awareness about women’s rights and safety. Participants also urged authorities to strengthen measures to protect women and ensure justice for victims.
Aparupa organised an Iftar distribution programme in Azara, Guwahati, providing essential food items to underprivileged people during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative was held with the participation of the organisation’s members and volunteers as part of its community welfare activities.
As part of our Flood Relief 2026 initiative, our NGO is providing essential relief and humanitarian assistance to flood-affected families in Upper Assam. The relief activities are being carried out across Jamuna Road, Rukmini Nagar, Majgaon, Betbari, Nimaijan and Bhatiapar, with the objective of supporting affected communities and helping families meet their immediate needs during this difficult time.
Aparupa, with support from Help Group, Uddipana and Ishwar, distributed relief materials to nearly 1,000 flood-affected families across several areas of Sivasagar and Charaideo districts on August 6. The assistance included essential food items, daily necessities and medicines. The organisation said it has been extending support to flood-affected communities every year.
